Ontario Coaches and Provincial Sport Organizations can apply throughout the year for support for professional development. These opportunites will lead to the best possible coaching for Ontario's athletes. There are a number of funding opportunities available, including:
Quest For Gold Enhanced Coaching: Providing programs that support the knowledge development of Ontario Coaches, through bursaries, conference and other forms of professional development.
General Motors Making Dreams Possible: Dedicated to supporting athletes at all levels through coaching excellence, General Motors’ Making Dreams Possible Program provides one hundred $2,000 club coaching grants and ten $10,000 high performance coach grants to community sport clubs and high performance coaches nationwide on an annual basis.
Investor's Group Community Coaching Conference Support: The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), through the sponsorship of Investors Group Inc., provides financial assistance to communities and organizations interested in hosting a Community Coaching Conference.
2009–2010 Coaching Internship Program
the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is offering subsidies of $12,000 to enable sport organizations to hire young professionals for coaching positions leading to permanent full-time employment. A total of 20 internships are available. The deadline for applications is July 13, 2009 for positions starting August 1, 2009. Click here to learn more about the program.
Mentorship Program Applications
Within the Aboriginal Sport Circle's long-term vision for Aboriginal coaching development, a mentoring approach has been established, which annually provides a select group of Aboriginal coaches with the opportunity to advance their expertise through a “hands on”, interactive training experience.
